Ramen Festa 2022@Komazawa Olympic Park

On November 6th, I went to Tokyo Ramen Festa 2022, which was held at Komazawa Olympic Park. Tokyo Ramen Festa is Japan's largest ramen event supported by Rakuten. 30 popular ramen shops from all over Japan gathered at this park for the fest.

Komazawa Olympic Park is a large park that takes 6 minutes from Komazawa-daigaku Station. The park is full of nature, and it also has a running course, a ballgame field, and a cafe.

The entrance fee is free, but we had to buy the ticket (1000 yen for one bowl of ramen). This time, I bought 2 tickets, and ate Tantan noodles from "Shin-Wakayama ramen" located in Tokyo, and Wonton noodles from "Wontonmen Mangetsu" located in Yamagata.

Tantan noodles: "Konzanji miso", for meat miso, and "Arita mikan" (mandarin orange), for the chili oil, which are both Wakayama local specialty, were mixed with sesame-based soup and had a nice mild flavor. The noodle was chewy and they really matched the mild soup.

Wonton noodles: flying fish and dried sardine was used for the fish & soy sauce-based soup and it really matched the thin noodle. For the ingredients, there were some huge Wonton (Chinese dumplings) and Menma (a Japanese condiment made from Lacto-fermented bamboo shoots). It was more filling than I thought, but overall it was delicious and was a refreshing flavor. This time I ate only two bowls of ramen, but it was heavier than I expected.

Ramen Festa is not only held in Tokyo but is also held around Japan once every year (it seems to be held in Nagoya next year ). Not only for ramen lovers but I highly recommend visiting if you want to find the ramen flavor you might like or who wants to try ramen all over Japan at once.

  1. What a unique festival! It's a sort of Olympics for ramen. It must provide a great opportunity to experience ramen from all around Japan at one location. The ticket seemed a bit expensive but considering the fact that you don't have to pay airfare to travel to Hokkaido, Wakayama, or other distant locations to sample the ramen dishes, I suppose it's a bargain. It looks like you got more than your money's worth.
